Why is travel to Labengki & Sombori more expensive than other islands?
Due to its remote location, lack of public ferry transport, and limited local infrastructure, private speedboats must be chartered for all transfers and island hopping. Fuel, fresh food, and supplies must all be brought in from the Kendari mainland.
How do I reach the trip starting point?
Fly into Haluoleo Airport (KDI) in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. Charter boats depart from Tanasa Harbor in the morning (between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM) when seas are calmest.
When is the best time of year to visit?
The best sea conditions and clearest waters typically occur during the dry months from February to May and September to October. However, trips run year-round depending on sea conditions.
