Best time to visit Sulawesi

It depends which coast you are on. Around Bunaken the driest stretch runs June to September, when rainfall sits under an hour a day and the walls are at their clearest. In the south, Bira is driest May to September, and April to October is the window when the boats launch. The island is close enough to the equator that no month is closed; the difference is sea state, not temperature.

Can a tour be changed?

Yes. Every route on this page is a starting point: change the number of days, swap a stop, or travel private instead of in a group. Tell us what you want different and the itinerary is rebuilt around it.

How do I book?

There is no checkout on this site. You send us what you are after and we come back with an itinerary and a price, which is also how the details get fixed before any money moves.

How do I get to Sulawesi?

Through one of two airports. Makassar (UPG) opens the south and Manado (MDC) the north, and both take daily direct flights from Jakarta. The transfers, ferries and boats after that are arranged as part of the route.

How big are the groups?

It varies by route: the smallest run at two people and the largest at thirty five. Each tour shows its own ceiling, and any of them can be run privately.

Do I need a visa, and what about vaccinations?

Both depend on your nationality and on rules that change, so we keep them on their own pages rather than summarising them here where they would go stale.
